PROFILE: WESTERN AUSTRALIAN AVIATION COLLEGE
The Western Australian Aviation College, based at Jandakot Airport,
Perth, Western Australia, has been training pilots since 1995. During
this time the college has earned a reputation for excellence.
The Western Australian Aviation College is justifiably regarded as one
of the leading providers of pilot training in Australia and the only
Flight Training Organisation holding approval to conduct European (JAR)
Flight training in Australia.
WAAC offers Aviation courses in alignment with the CASA syllabus.
Courses offered cater for the student pilot initiating a career in
aviation through to preparation for airline or military entry.
Since 1996 WAAC has been a registered and approved provider of training
with the Western Australian Department of Training and Employment, which
is a member of the Australian National Training Authority
(ANTA). This enables courses to offer wide industry recognition and
enables the college to award an Advanced Diploma in Aviation
and Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Aviation Flight
Operations).
The Advanced Diploma in Aviation is designed to provide the highest
possible training a commercial pilot can receive. As well as covering
the Civil Aviation Safety Authority syllabus for the Commercial Pilot
Licence, other essential training includes ancillary subjects, which
will not only provide a higher level of education but also undoubtedly
improve the graduate's prospects for employment.
Instructors are qualified industry specialists who impart their passion
for flying, making the course dynamic and good fun. Teaching is tailored
to the individual. Students find that learning is highly charged and
that they are able to achieve their credentials much faster because the
College is commercially oriented, and involves practical flying training
alongside classroom theory from the start. Students are able to meet
other pilots, share experiences and make new friends, which creates an
atmosphere that is highly conducive to learning.
The modern training facilities cater for students without any
overcrowding. The college provides all the modern technology and
hardware necessary for efficient learning from lecturer to student.
The
lecture theatres are fitted out with white boards, aircraft models,
modern comfortable fittings and furniture, and they are all air
conditioned to ensure a most congenial atmosphere. In addition these
facilities can be structured to cater for groups ranging from 10 to 40
depending on the need. All lecture theatres have multi-media
capabilities combining PowerPoint, audio, video and Internet. Other aids
used are overhead projectors and example aircraft instruments and
components.
The Western Australian Aviation College is the only school in Western
Australia to offer an integrated Advanced Diploma course. It is
recognised by the Department of Training, Austudy approved, and has
course modules able to be credited towards a bachelor degree should you
decide to go on to achieve university qualifications. The College is a
Registered Training Organisation meeting the Department of Training’s
strict AQTF standards and the Advanced Diploma in Aviation is approved
by the department's Training Accreditation Council.
The College student will receive academy style training throughout their
education. The protocol is emphasis on flight training and
professionalism.
Dedication and hard work combined with the right aptitude, personality,
discipline and motivation are rewarded with an international and highly
lucrative career.
