  TERMS & CONDITIONS

DURATION
The JAA Modular distance learning course is a course conducted over a period of 9 months. In exceptional circumstance the College may extend the duration to 18 months.

STUDY
The JAA Modular distance learning student commits to 15 hours a week study and will make their best endeavours to complete the course on schedule.

ATTENDANCE
Students are required to be in attendance at the College for three blocks of face-to-face ground school, as required by the Western Australian Aviation College, unless the CAA has granted exemption. (duration of each ground school block is 7 working days)

CONDUCT
Students are required to exhibit professional conduct at all times whilst on site

COURSE FEES
The payments of the course fees are due before commencement. Course fees are non-refundable.

EXAMINATIONS
Students are required to attempt both internal (Progress Tests) and CAA exams when required by the College. All CAA exam fees are the responsibility of the student. An exam delivery fee will also be charged by the Western Australian Aviation College, which is due and payable prior to exam sittings. On enrolment, the student and the college will agree on attendance dates for the ground school component of the Modular course. Exam delivery fees are $70 when sitting as part of a scheduled course, on the agreed attendance dates. If a student attends a ground school and exam sitting at a time other than the agreed date(s), the exam delivery fees may vary. The exam delivery fee is $160 for a resit. As the CAA requires that each exam is held at a separate time, it is not possible for a student to do a resit for the standard group delivery fee ($70) in a room with students doing a different exam. A resit will be in a separate room. The college schedules and runs one modular group of exams each month. If a candidate wishes to sit an exam that is not part of the scheduled group (eg. Air Law, which is a Module 1 exam, in a month in which the college is running Module 2 exams) the candidate will be charged a fee based on cost recovery for the cost of the exam room, as determined on a case by case basis. If it is necessary to hold exams at WAAC rather than Murdoch University due to lack of candidate numbers, costs will be determined on a case by case basis.

DISMISSAL
The College may, at its discretion, dismiss the student from the College for breach of contract, unacceptable conduct or performance. No refund would be due.

INTERNET
Students are required to obtain internet access to enable use of the web based training tolls used during training.

WRITTEN NOTICE
Written notice is deemed to have taken place on receipt of a letter or e-mail only.

PROPER LAW
The law of Western Australia shall govern this agreement but does not remove the right to take further action under Australia’s Consumer Protection laws.

COPYRIGHT
The Student acknowledges that they will be exposed to intellectual property during their studies with the College. Copyright law protects all College documents. All information passed to the Student is for their use only, it may not be sold, copied or transferred in any format.

These TERMS and CONDITIONS form a contract between the student and the Western Australian Aviation College, which is EXECUTED by the parties upon course enrolment.
